Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. Since the mid 80s she has been working in television and film. She's received several awards, among them sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her birthplace was and raised within New York New York. Bassett as well as her sister and their mother moved to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was five. Their father had separated from their mom. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal to become an actor come true. In the year 1980, Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale and, in 1997 they were married. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the principal parts in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
